DUFF MCKAGAN Makes Cancer-Stricken Boy's Rock 'N' Roll Dream Come True
August 29, 2012According to NWCN.com, legendary bassist Duff McKagan (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) and musicians from the Seattle band REWIND joined a cancer-stricken 13-year old boy on stage this past Tuesday (August 28) to perform to a packed house at the Hard Rock Café in Seattle, Washington.
Simone Capelli, who barely speaks English, was flown to Seattle by the Make-A-Wish foundation so he could have his rock-and-roll dream come true.
"Simone is just a cool kid, he is cooler than most." said McKagan. "It's not about me or any grown-ups."
"Tonight is about making him feel like a rock star," said Wish manager Jessie Elenbaas.
"[Simone] is very fragile right now, but his prognosis is good. He is getting better," added Elenbaas. "I hope this night helps cushion what he's been going through.
"This is his setlist. Everything he knows how play: METALLICA, GUNS N' ROSES, AC/DC, NIRVANA."
Make-A-Wish is an international foundation, and the branch in Italy called on Make-A-Wish in Seattle to help create this special night.
